Mental Health & Well-being Coordinator
My name is Charlotte Lawson and I am the school’s Wellbeing coordinator. My role involves promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing for all children, their families and members of staff and governors. I lead the teaching of mental health across the school and have created our ‘Wellbeing curriculum’ which outlines the skills, knowledge and understanding our children need to keep themselves, and others, physically and mentally healthy and safe.
I work alongside key members of staff and the pastoral team to increase understanding and awareness of common mental health issues, enable staff to identify and respond to early warning signs of mental ill health in children and to understand how and when to access support, provide the right support to children with mental health issues, and know where to signpost them and their parents/carers for specific support.
Social Worker
My name is Sarah and I am the School Social Worker. It is my job to make sure that children and families get the help and support that they would like. I can help with finding support services.
I work with families at home and with children in school. I can help children in school with their worries, friendships and support them to build their confidence and resilience.
Mental Health First Aider
My name is Martin, I am a Learning Mentor. I have been in this role for 2 years having previously worked as a teaching assistant across school.
My role involves working with children and their families to help them develop their academic, social and emotional wellbeing so that they can reach their full potential.
I am also the school’s dedicated Mental Health First Aider. The training I received to support this role enables me to identify possible Mental Health issues within the school and help children who may be struggling with their own mental health.
